I've been eagerly waiting for this! Thanks for your work and wisdom. BTW, I think Wiley did a great job with the cover.

My friend is at her wits end - her 7 year old son is still wetting the bed almost every night no matter what she does. She has tried not giving liquids after 7:00 pm, waking him up, setting an alarm (he sleeps through it), giving him pull-ups, not giving him pull-ups, getting mad, not getting mad. She is a single mom with a 1 year old. This has been going on for years. During the day he is fine (he did have the occasional accident about 1 year ago in the day). She and her father did the same until they were about 10 years old, so she thinks it may be genetic - a small bladder. Could you advise her on this?

I would get a medical opinion so you rule out any other physiological factors. Yes - I have heard there is a familial trend too. But barring all that - Its between the 7 yr old and his sheets. Mom has no reason to be involved beyond teaching him how to cope with changing sheets and learning how to use the washing machine. Make sure there is a sleeping bag in their room so they can deal with these things in the morning. Hope that helps!

I went out and got your book the same day I received your email saying that it was now available, and I'm glad I did! I knew I would get many chuckles along with the wisdom, as I did when reading your first book. I found myself reading sections to my husband and saying "Wow, that's just like what's happening at our house!". You have made pinpointing the goals for the misbehaviour easy to understand and in reading the common parenting pitfalls, I can now see why some of the things I've tried haven't worked. Thanks for the encouragement and hope you've given me for a cooperative, loving, respectful family life.

Your new book could not have come out at a better time for us and our 4 year old! I particularily love the idea of trying to be "George Costanza" for a few days...it's been a terrific tool (not to mention my husband instantly understood the intent, without having read your book!).
Thanks again!
